Riedel Veritas New World Pinot Noir Wine Glasses, Set of 2

Wine glasses are one of the easiest places to compromise in a kitchen, and one of the places where the upgrade is most immediately felt. Riedel has spent three centuries refining the relationship between glass shape and what you taste from it. The Veritas New World Pinot Noir glass is the result of that thinking applied to a specific purpose: a bowl wide enough to let a fragrant, fruit-forward Pinot Noir fully open up, with a slightly flared lip that directs the pour to the front of the palate where those fruit notes register most clearly.

The machine-made process Riedel uses for the Veritas collection achieves something handmade glass struggles with: perfect consistency from piece to piece. Each glass holds 27 7/8 ounces and stands 9.25 inches tall, thin-walled and light enough in the hand that the vessel disappears into the experience of drinking rather than calling attention to itself. Dishwasher safe, which matters more over years of regular use than the moment of purchase.

These glasses work equally well beyond Pinot Noir. Gamay, Nebbiolo, Rose champagne, and most light to medium-bodied reds benefit from the same wide bowl shape. The set includes two glasses.
